MUSIC

Our Music Vision:

Music at Hateley Heath allows children to use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes.

Children in EYFS learn nursery rhymes and express their emotions through music. Children have the opportunity to play tuned and untuned instruments musically whilst listening to a range of high-quality recorded music. The children can experiment with, create, select and combine sounds using different mediums. Moving through the key stages, children have more opportunities to play and perform in solo and ensemble contexts, using their voices and playing musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression. All children are encouraged to improvise and compose music for a range of audiences and understand musical notation. Understanding the history of music and learning about classical musicians plays an integral part of their learning.
